Had FOV yesterday!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I had my FOV yesterday (Mar 21), and all went well. I was surprised at how easy the surgery was. I was wheeled into the operating room at 10am, and was wheeled out at 10:35. That included time to fix a tear in my retina, by laser, that the doctor had not seen in his office. He indicated that during a vitrectomy the inside of the eye is much more visible than it can be during an office exam. I am writing this on the day after the surgery, and my vision is somewhat blurry in the operated (left) eye, but otherwise fantastic. The blurriness has already decreased quite alot today. I expect in a few days, at this rate, that I won't have any blurriness. I did see double for awhile this morning after the patch was removed, but the doctor said that's pretty normal -- caused by the anesthesia. The floaters are totally gone. In fact, they are SO gone that I can now see some floaters in my right eye that I didn't see before because I was so bothered by the floaters in my left eye. I'd be glad to go into more detail about the surgery, or anything else, if anyone has questions. Thanks to people on the message board for the encouragement. I might not have gone forward without it.

3weeks since fov
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Its been 3 weeeks now since my last fov and all is well now . The sutures have finally disolved and my vision keeps improving day by and i had my prescription glasses updated 1 week after surgery and that was a big mistake, my wife is just a little upset with me she wanted me to wait a few months and i think she was right because now i have to take my glasses of when i look into the distaNCE BECAUSE ITS MUCH MORE CLEAR WITHOUT GLASSES. i MUST HAVE VERY CLOSE TO 20/20 VISION ON THIS EYE UNCORRECTED
LIFE IS WONDERFUL NOW THAT ALL IS BEHIND ME . I'M SO HAPPY I WENT FOR THE FOVS EVEN THOUGH IT WAS a long haul but it was all worth it. I guess its like carrying a baby for 9 months but then comes the reward and all the trouble is forgotten. I wish all you guys the best in your quest for floater free life
